Himalayan Monal Whirligig (11 inches)
The Himalayan Monal or Danphe is the National Bird of Nepal, and the state bird of Uttarakhan, in India.
The whirligig possesses a long crest made of wire and beads. He is feathered with painted details ...multicolored iridescent plumage throughout his body.

The whirligig's body is cut from 3/4" or thicker wood (plywood, pine, or whatever type of wood the artist deems as appropriate for the whirligig). The wings/legs are cut from finnish birch, painted with exterior acrylic paint, and sealed with Polyshield Hydrocote...a weather resistant protectant. I use brass hardware (screws, washers, bearing, propeller and pivot tubes). High quality products are used to make my whirligigs more durable. A 5-1/2 inch stainless steel nail and instructions for mounting are included.
**When you purchase a whirligig, you WILL NOT receive a whirligig post/stake. You will receive a 5" nail and mounting instructions ONLY. If you wish to purchase a ready-made whirligig post, there are several variations of posts for sale in my shop.
Some assembly is required. Wings/legs are not attached during shipping. Instructions will be included for attaching the wings/legs.
